Job title: Mechanical Building Services Engineer Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role Salary: Circa £54,000 What you'll be doing: Review design proposals from external contractors and consultants for new and refurbished heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and local exhaust ventilation (LEV) installations to ensure compliance with current legislation, regulations and site standards Provide advice / guidance / recommendations to the wider business in HVAS / LEV issues Work with site Engineering Authorities to assess operations on site and ensure LEV systems are fully compliant with regulations Preparation of technical reports and documentation to support new HVAC and LEV installations on site Define requirements for HVAC and LEV systems in conjunction with end users Assist with the production and update of site engineering standards for HVAC and LEV systems Ensure that all new and modified assets are compliant with relevant current standards and meet stakeholder requirements Your skills and experiences: Essential: Design or Installation background in HVAC / LEV related experience with a consultant or contractor Experience in managing and leading teams Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering Registered with an engineering professional institute, Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or IMechE and working towards Chartered status Desirable: Building Services Engineering qualification British Occupational Health Society P601 course in LEV Benefits: You'll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave incentive and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The Site Specialist Engineering (SSE) Team: The SSE Team are a small multidisciplinary team including Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Structural SQEP Engineers. The team provide technical support and advice to the wider business as well ensuring the facilities related construction, refurbishment and maintenance activities are compliant with the appropriate regulations, standards and site specifications. You will be involved in a wide variety of systems and services including providing technical support to the site expansion programme with a number of new facilities being built to accommodate future workload.
