Quality Controller (QC) Job Purpose The Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring that products and services meet defined quality, compliance, and traceability standards. The role ensures quality processes, inspections, and documentation are consistently applied across incoming goods, in-process manufacture, and final dispatch. Responsibilities Conduct inspection of incoming, in-process, and finished components to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using appropriate inspection equipment (e.g. micrometres, verniers, CMM arms) Ensure all components are correctly identified and fully traceable to purchase orders and project numbers Verify certification (Mill Certificates, CoCs) and ensure documentation accuracy prior to release to manufacture Produce and maintain Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and support root cause investigations Support goods-inwards containment and reject non-conforming materials in a timely manner Ensure inspection and testing activities are carried out in line with quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and MITP requirements Record and maintain fabrication and inspection records, including route cards and quality documentation Liaise with suppliers and client inspection teams to support verification activities Monitor calibration and verification equipment across sites Support continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned reviews Promote and comply with health, safety, and environmental standards Experience Experience in a Quality Control or Inspection role within a manufacturing, fabrication, or engineering environment Experience inspecting fabricated, machined, or welded components Experience raising and managing NCRs and supporting corrective actions Exposure to supplier or client inspections Qualifications & Skills Apprentice trained or equivalent practical experience Competent in selecting and using appropriate inspection equipment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures Strong understanding of manufacturing tolerances and material properties Good IT skills and ability to maintain accurate quality records Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability Whats on Offer £35,000 £40,000 per annum Secure role within an established engineering business Training and development opportunities Supportive team environment with a strong quality culture Overtime available where required If this role is of interest, feel free to contact Martin on 07467346417 or simply apply with your most up-to-date CV to prompt a call back.
