Lets grow together!Please note:the company does not offer sponsorship so candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this roleAbout the roleThe Transport & Traffic Planner is responsible for all activities related to ensuring our customers always receive goods on time via our network of haulage partners.Previous experience of traffic planning within a busy environment is required so that you can support the planning performed by our vendors. Applicants will require a strong level of computer skills to then be provided training on systems they will use.The role requires a high level of diligence and communication on a daily basis to ensure all transport requirements are correctly understood, translated and delivered for the customer. Shipment progress will be monitored each day ensuring early problem solving of any potential issues. Where it may become necessary to contact customers you will present our Account Management team with all of the information they require to discuss the situation and find an acceptable resolution.What are you going to doManage a small team - develop skills, performance, behaviours & attendance following company procedures and set goals & objectives during one-to-one sessions, manage expectationsEnsuring that all transport requirements are booked with haulage partners in an accurate and timely mannerRaise Purchase orders associated with haulage activitiesTo be the first point of contact and owner of any enquiry relating to transport based matters, ensuring all enquiries are turnaround in a timely mannerManagement of inbound / outbound loading schedule to ensure effective and efficient management of resources at all timesManage and process customs clearanceWork closely with the Warehouse & Distribution team to ensure excellent internal comms around shipping / inbound requirementsDaily cross functional liaising with all colleagues across the business where required in matters relating to transportEnsuring CRM systems are kept updated following each and every contact with vendorsActively assisting the Warehouse team in the management of stockAssist in the management of PODs where requiredAttending and participate in any meetings requiredTo achieve KPIs set for the department and individualsEnsure customs clearance documents are up to date and filed as requiredAbout youEssential requirementsExperience of managing a small teamPrevious experience of transport managementExperience of customs clearance process and proceduresEffective and efficient time management prioritising and multi-taskingExcellent attention to detailActive problem solvingA team player
