Assistant Accountant (Dealership Experience)

Join a dynamic Finance Team in Stoke-on-Trent.
Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their established and fast-paced finance team in the motor industry. Reporting directly to the dealership accountant, this role plays a key part in supporting financial operations across sales and service departments.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with motor dealership finance experience who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys responsibility and variety.

Key Responsibilities
* Daily bank reconciliations and weekly cash-flow forecasting
* Production of weekly and monthly management reports
* Vehicle and stock monthly write-downs
* Monthly accruals and profit reconciliation
* Maintenance of payables and receivables ledgers
* Management and upkeep of the fixed assets register
* General ledger maintenance
* Providing ad-hoc finance support to other dealerships when required

About You
* Minimum 18 months’ experience in a dealership finance role (highly desirable)
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
* Proactive, highly organised, and detail-oriented
* Strong reporting and reconciliation skills
* Working knowledge of Kerridge and ADP Accounts software is advantageous
