Mechanically bias Maintenance Engineer
Location: Market Drayton
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (7am-7pm & 7pm-7am – rotating days and nights)
Salary: £57,289 per annum + paid overtime at 1.5x
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanically Skilled Engineer to join a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This is a key position within a multi‑skilled engineering team, responsible for maintaining and improving the performance, reliability, and safety of high‑speed production equipment.
You will also be given Electrical training courses and qualifications to become a Multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and repair fast‑moving, complex manufacturing equipment to minimise downtime
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and PLC‑related faults
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
* Work on pumps, valves, conveyors, and high‑speed machinery
* Apply strong root cause analysis techniques to prevent recurring issues
* Collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, and compliance
About You
You will be an apprentice‑trained engineer with strong experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment. You'll be confident working independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
Essential Experience & Skills
* Proven experience in a multi‑skilled engineering role within a fast‑moving manufacturing or logistics environment
* Strong mechanical and electrical engineering background
* Experience working on high‑speed machinery, pumps, valves, and PLCs
* Good working knowledge of filling and process technologies
* Excellent problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills
* Solid understanding of preventative maintenance techniques
* Strong teamwork, communication, and cross‑functional working skills
