We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Room Based Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication abilities, and a passion for early childhood education. The Deputy Manager will assist in managing staff, liaising with parents, and overseeing the implementation of educational programmes. The Deputy Manager will be based in a room with children.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Nursery Manager in the overall management of the nursery, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Supervise and support staff in their daily activities, fostering a positive team environment.
* Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their children's progress and any concerns.
* Drive initiatives to enhance the quality of care and education provided to children.
* Manage daily operations, including scheduling staff shifts and maintaining records.
* Ensure that health and safety standards are met at all times within the nursery setting.
* Support the planning and delivery of engaging educational activities tailored to children's developmental needs.
* Promote an inclusive environment that respects diversity and encourages participation from all children.
Skills
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in English.
* Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
* Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
* A passion for nurturing children's development and fostering a love for learning.
