About the role
Are you ready to take charge of some of the UK's most vital road tunnel assets? We're looking for a proactive and safety-driven Tunnel Operations Manager to lead the safe operation, maintenance, and future planning of tunnel infrastructure across a major contract.
What you'll be doing
* Lead the safe and compliant operation of road tunnels under the Road Tunnel Safety Regulations (2007).
* Oversee inspection teams, control room operations, and on-road response units.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure tunnel safety, availability, and performance.
* Support planning and budgeting for tunnel renewals, inspections, and maintenance.
* Analyse incidents, drive improvements, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Who we're looking for
* Experience in tunnel operations, infrastructure, or complex service delivery.
* Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
* Knowledge of tunnel safety regulations and operational best practices.
* Valid UK driving licence and willingness to conduct night inspections.
* Working towards or holding Tunnel Manager qualification (Chartered/Inc. Engineer desirable).
* NEBOSH or IOSH certification (desirable).
