Our Medical Workforce and Education Team is recruiting!

We're seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Medical Education Administrator to support the delivery of high-quality medical placements for post-graduate and undergraduate residents. Based at the Warneford Hospital in Oxford, you'll also be required to travel regularly across the Trust footprint, which includes Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire, Swindon, Salisbury, Bristol and Northeast Somerset.

You'll provide vital administrative support for resident doctor educational activities, their induction, and undergraduate placements, while liaising with NHS programme managers, residents, and psychiatric supervisors. Joining a small, friendly team, you'll have opportunities to cross-cover colleagues and develop your knowledge through exciting projects.

Applicants must have a full valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.


Main duties of the job

* Arranging meetings and events, organising the agenda and taking minutes.
* Coordinating teaching sessions, producing attendance reports and certificates.
* Helping to ensure that the requirements of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the GMC are maintained.
* Providing admin support to the Medical Education Lead, Director of Medical Education, Undergraduate Manager, Simulation Lead, Deputy Undergraduate & Simulation Lead, College Tutors and our Medical Education Fellows.
* Coordinate training programmes, manage induction schedules, and organise educational events,
* Support the popular Medical Work Experience Programme within the trust.

Job responsibilities

The quality management of medical placements is crucial to ensuring an excellent learning experience for post-graduate medical residents. The Trust is responsible for the training of residents doctors and clinical and educational supervisors (consultants) to ensure that the requirements of the Royal Colleges and General Medical Council (GMC) are met.

There are around 100 residents doctors within the Trust and 60 clinical/educational supervisors, both of which are located across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Wiltshire at a variety of inpatient and community clinical bases. In addition, the Trust is responsible for ensuring that the training posts which residents doctors occupy are fully accredited by the GMC.


Person Specification


Contractual requirements

* Holds current UK full driving licence
* Has access to vehicle for work to travel and carry equipment
* Able to move bulky, heavy equipment


Knowledge and skills

* Knowledge of medical education and training, to include undergraduate and post-graduate training.
* High standard of verbal and written communication skills, able to generate letters and other documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* IT literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft IT Packages.
* Experience of working in the NHS
* Experience of working in a similar admin or secretarial role
