Plans, organizes, directs and operates the department according to The University of Vermont Medical Center goals, policies and practices. Participates in the development and execution of the department strategic and operational plan. Provides leadership and direction for all ambulatory care and population health pharmacy services and ensures that the medication needs of outpatients are accurately met and maintains all necessary records. Develops systems of care, solves problems and facilitates processes required to meet customer need and achieve division objectives within budgetary targets. Coordinates the department's staff training and development activities. Additional responsibilities include performance management of assigned staff, quality measurement and process improvement, practice standards within area of expertise and regulatory compliance. EDUCATION A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) from an ACPE-accredited college or university is required. Pharmacist licensure in Vermont or New York is required. Completion of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency is preferred. MHA or MBA or equivalent experience preferred Board Certification preferred EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years ambulatory care and/or population health pharmacy experience in an academic medical center or large, complex teaching hospital is required. KNOWLEDGE/SPECIAL SKILLS Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required. Excellent organizational and team building skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a clinical care team. Ability to exercise sound professional judgement, set priorities, make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergent requests. This position requires a high degree of specialized knowledge of clinical therapeutics within their area of expertise. Candidate must be familiar with financial reporting and metrics, capable of analyzing financial results, developing budget projections, etc. Must have knowledge of basic accounting principles.
