An established manufacturer of thermal equipment is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead its commercial function. This is a pivotal role within a globally respected engineering firm supplying high-specification systems for advanced materials testing and processing. The company has built a reputation for engineering excellence, serving both R&D and production environments across international markets. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping business strategy, driving revenue growth, and strengthening customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Take full ownership of the sales function, from strategic planning to tactical execution.
* Guide customers toward technically appropriate solutions tailored to their application needs.
* Prepare, present, and negotiate proposals to secure commercially viable agreements.
* Coordinate the internal and external processes related to project sales through to completion.
* Engage with clients both in the UK and internationally as required.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure the ongoing development of market-relevant products.
* Provide senior-level coverage during periods of absence in the leadership team.
Candidate Profile
* Proven track record in a technical sales leadership role, ideally within engineered products or systems.
* Good understanding of operations.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a consultative and professional approach.
* Commercially astute with the ability to manage complex, high-value sales cycles.
* Strong organisational skills, self-motivated and team oriented.
* Prior experience in sectors such as Kilns, HVACs, furnaces.
