Our client is currently recruiting for a Workshop Assistant. The role is on a temporary, ongoing contract and is located in Aberdeen. ROLE Performs all workshop operations as per procedures. Effectively services and maintains the Company’s equipment. Delivers safe, efficient and excellent quality work, and provides exceptional service to both internal and external customers. Becomes familiar with the Company’s equipment and services through on-the-job training, ensuring adherence to all safety and management procedures. Actively undertakes all required activities and assist with tasks in the day to day running of the workshop. RESPONSIBILITIES Maintenance of equipment (such as assembly and dis-assembly, paint spraying, shot blasting, pressure testing) Ensure that servicing and upkeep of all equipment is to the highest standard, to provide the best service quality and service to our customers Oversee and assist in load-out packaging of equipment ensuring containers are loaded correctly and safely. Ensure that all equipment assigned to a job is maintained and fully certified as per company procedure Assist with equipment inventories pre-and post-job Correctly handle receipt & dispatch of Company equipment Assist with materials ordering in accordance with policy, ensuring accurate completion of required documents Liaise with relevant teams/departments to ensure all projects fulfil customer requirements and to ensure of on time delivery and service quality Effectively act upon instructions and safely deliver upon assigned work tasks Actively participate in a team environment Attend other work sites as required Participate in workshop on-call rota Responsible for the general housekeeping, good order and appearance of the workshop Be obliged to ensure continuous improvement; keep under review the ways in which the Company’s products, services, processes, equipment, systems and activities might be improved, enhanced and/or developed Ensure all work tasks comply with procedures and guidelines outlined in the Quality Management System. Input on any cost and time saving ideas for workshop operations and equipment preparation REQUIREMENTS Qualifications/Education: Must be numerate and literate to Secondary School Education level Be computer-literate to beginner’s level in MS Word, Excel and Outlook Email packages Knowledge & Experience: Preference is for the role to have a prior awareness of: Paint Spraying experience is preferred but not essential Valves and Fittings Forklift license an advantage; B2 Forklift Truck operation certification preferred Knowledge and experience of using power tools essential. Previous experience in warehousing and/or equipment maintenance and servicing is preferred but not essential Personal Skills: Must enjoy and thrive on being “hands-on” Be a hard-working and effective team player Have the ability to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines Have an investigative mind, be inquisitive.
