About the Opportunity:
Our client is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Biology Technician. In this role, you will conduct a variety of biochemical and biological assays, working with plants, fungi, insects, and cell cultures. Your contributions will be essential in delivering high-quality data that supports the selection of chemical hits for the next stage of our invention pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Biology Technician, you will:
* Execute and monitor multiple routine biochemical and organism assays, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data.
* Identify and report any issues with your assigned assays to the relevant experts.
* Collaborate with experts to organise and perform troubleshooting experiments, clearly communicating findings and adjustments.
* Conduct development tests for both existing and new methods as required by the business.
* Adhere to local safety rules and guidelines during all testing activities.
* Maintain stock and equipment needed for your assays, planning and executing these tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
* Monitor assay performance and quality, reporting findings to the relevant experts.
* Communicate any issues or new processes to the team effectively.
* Participate in performance testing of new methods and engage in discussions about data analysis methods and conclusions.
Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* Formal training and/or qualifications in Biology with relevant lab experience.
* Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
* Good communication skills, both oral and written.
* A solid scientific background with a willingness to expand your knowledge of assigned assays.
* Prior experience working in a lab setting, whether in a professional or academic context.
