Deputy Manager – Children’s Home
Bournemouth, BH9 | £37,000 per annum, Bonuses. 2-Bed Home. LD / Trauma-Informed Service. Full-Time | Permanent.
We are recruiting for a Deputy Manager to support the leadership of a 2-bed children’s home in Bournemouth (BH9), providing care for young people with learning disabilities and trauma-related needs. This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader, or existing Deputy Manager to step into a well-supported leadership role within a specialist service. You’ll work closely with the Registered Manager to help lead the home, maintain high standards of care, and create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager with the daily operations of the home.
* Lead shifts and provide guidance to the staff team.
* Promote a trauma-informed and therapeutic approach to care.
* Assist with care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
* Help monitor incidents, safeguarding concerns, and medication processes.
* Assist with staff supervision, rota planning, and team development.
* Maintain accurate records and support compliance readiness.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
* Build positive working relationships with young people, families, and professionals.
Requirements
* Previous experience within a children’s residential care setting.
* Experience supporting young people with learning disabilities and/or trauma-related needs.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child-centred practice.
* Knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
* Level 3 in Residential Childcare essential.
* Level 5 in Leadership and Management desirable, or willingness to work towards.
* Confident leadership skills and the ability to support and motivate a team.
