The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Research and Development Team as an R&D Manager. The successful candidate will lead the execution of key experiments across projects, driving the development of Arctech's cutting-edge technology. Tasks will be diverse and wide-ranging, from insect behavioural assays and analytical chemistry, to working alongside engineers and data scientists to develop our Semeion iQ technology.
Main duties and responsibilities
· Lead the execution of key studies across Arctech's portfolio of projects: organising, supervising, and conducting data collection, recording and analysis
· Oversee the smooth running of the laboratory, ensuring a tidy and organised environment as well as compliance with health and safety procedures
· Evaluate, advise, and implement improvements to streamline R&D activities
· Perform literature reviews to support experimental design
· Train and supervise team members where necessary
· Provide clear communication to Director of R&D on experimental status
· Write SOP/RA/COSHH and study reports
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders where needed
· This job role is likely to include line management responsibilities
Essential skills and experience
Technical
· Educated to MSc level or equivalent experience
· Experience working with arthropods
· Experience of designing and executing scientific studies to high standards
· Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including strong attention to detail
· Competency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
