A progressive secondary and sixth form in Reading seeks an experienced Music Teacher for their vibrant Music faculty starting September 2025. The role blends performance, composition, and audio production to enrich student attainment.
About the role:
You will deliver classroom lessons at KS3–KS4 and optionally KS5, lead orchestral ensembles, and produce student recordings. The school values participation in local and national festivals.
Key responsibilities:

Teach performance, theory, and digital music across age groups
*
Direct orchestras, small ensembles, and digital music groups
*
Oversee music tech labs, including DAWs and recording suites
*
Plan concerts, workshops, and peripatetic masterclasses
*
Support student music journeys at GCSE and post-16 levels
Ideal candidate:

Music degree with QTS; instrumental/vocal skill is essential
*
Experience with digital audio and compositional software
*
Passion for collaborative and performance-centred music education
*
Excellent project and event coordination skills
