Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday–Friday | 8am - 4.30pm
Salary: £27,560 per annum (not pro rata)

Are you practical, proactive and passionate about creating safe, welcoming spaces for young people to thrive? Longdon Park School is looking for a hands‑on Caretaker to join our fantastic team and help us keep our school running smoothly, safely and to the highest standard.
This is more than a maintenance role — it’s a chance to be part of a community that supports pupils with a range of needs, including Autism. Your work will directly impact their daily experience, helping to create the calm, consistent environment they rely on.
What you will be doing
As our Caretaker, you’ll take pride in keeping our school in excellent condition. Your day could include:
* Carrying out general repairs, maintenance and DIY tasks
* Conducting safety checks and completing risk assessments
* Managing site security, including opening and locking the school
* Ensuring classrooms, equipment and shared spaces are ready for learning
* Supporting school improvement projects and development work
* Being a reassuring, reliable presence for pupils and staff

What you'll bring
You’ll be someone who is:
* Experience/ skilled in maintenance, DIY or site management
* Organised, efficient and able to work at pace
* Safety‑conscious with good attention to detail
* Practical, reliable and happy to get stuck in
* Motivated by making a positive difference
* Driving licence required
Experience in a school or SEN environment is desirable, but not essential — the right attitude, work ethic and commitment to quality matter most.
About Us
Longdon Park School opened in June 2015. We are a co-educational day school catering for pupils aged 7 to 18 with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour primarily with a diagnosis of ASD. We provide a therapeutic, supportive and inclusive learning environment where our young people learn to accept responsibility for their actions, make positive decisions and display pro-social behaviour. We are committed to raising achievement and enabling pupils to recognise their potential and supporting them through a personalised, engaging curriculum. Our priority is to develop the foundation knowledge and skills required to make a manageable and smooth transition to the next life stage.
Longdon Park School is not readily accessible by public transport.
