Our client supports the Fleet Air Arm, including the Wildcat Maritime Force (WMF) based at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton. Services range from repair and maintenance of military aircraft to fuel delivery and off-aircraft support services. Yeovilton is one of the Royal Navy’s two principal air stations and is one of the busiest military airfields in the UK, home to more than 100 aircraft.
We have opportunities for Aircraft Engineering Supervisors (Any Trade) (Wildcat) to be based at RNAS Yeovilton, Somerset. This role is responsible for aircraft management and ground support to Wildcat aircraft.
Our Aircraft Engineering Supervisors perform contracted tasks ensuring customer policy and regulations are met to a high standard, while raising any customer complaints, quality issues and business risks with Team leads. Our Aircraft Fitters comply with The Health and Safety at Work (HASAWA) Act 1974 and Customer Policy and Regulations. You will be responsible for completing any administration duties required and be willing to attend further training courses to develop your skills and knowledge.
Responsibilities
* Carry out contracted tasks ensuring compliance with customer policy and regulations.
* Raise customer complaints, quality issues and business risks with Team leads.
* Complete required administration duties for the role.
* Attend further training courses to develop skills and knowledge.
* Provide aircraft management and ground support to Wildcat aircraft.
Qualifications
* Must have several years of experience in an airworthiness environment with relevant experience for the Wildcat aircraft; minimum of a couple of years hands-on experience.
* Hold/have the ability to hold Certificate of Competency for Supervisory level.
* Attained formal training in the Wildcat aircraft and associated trade systems.
* Previous experience and good working knowledge of the following:
o Wildcat Aircraft Engineering and Aircraft Systems (by Trade).
o Wildcat Aircraft Servicing and Support Equipment.
o Certificate of Competency at Supervisory level.
o An understanding of Lean Operating Procedures.
o Naval Air Publications and Compound – Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (C-IETP).
o Health and Safety, COSHH Regulations, Tool Control and Quality Practices.
o Engineering and Asset Management Systems.
o Maintenance Human Factors Course (completed or able to complete).
o Understanding of rotary wing military aviation procedures.
o Understanding of Airworthiness Engineering Safety and Compliance per Regulatory and Legislative requirements (MAA).
* Ability to work productively, efficiently and with initiative under tight timescales and pressure while maintaining operational outputs.
* Ability to achieve SC clearance; applicants must be living in the UK and have been for some time. If not UK passport holders, must hold the right to work in the UK.
