The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for providing Physical Therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
* Demonstrates ability to appropriately treat patients according to professional standards of practice.
* Possesses interpersonal communication skills, including coordinating patient care with team members and counseling patients and families.
* Maintains regular, punctual attendance in accordance with hospital policies and relevant regulations.
* Ensures compliance with all hospital policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
* Maintains a cheerful, active treatment area.
* Demonstrates caring, honesty, and open communication, encouraging professionalism.
* Participates in quality assessment, program development, supervision, committees, safety, and infection control.
* Awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and regulatory compliance.
* Uses supplies and equipment efficiently.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Provides age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development principles, and assessing patient data to meet individual needs.
Education/Training
Associate degree or graduation from an accredited two-year college program in Physical Therapist Assistant.
Licensure/Certification
Current license in the State of Florida as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
