Role Summary
A great support role for the Quality team, this role covers the whole product lifecycle, from design concept, risk assessment, fit and sealing, production, ex-factory QC issues and after sales customer returns.
To manage the development and production of product ensuring that its quality meets our customers’ expectations, safeguarding returns while maximising launch availability and margin.
Role Responsibilities
* Work alongside design and buying to develop product in accordance with our product formula
* Support technologists on Risk Assessment Meetings per season/ Check samples for any potential washcare/testing issues/Sending out risk assessment comments
* Attend weekly fit sessions
* Maintaining workbooks/ Check samples for any make issues /measure samples/Download pictures following fit session
* Chase washcares/Reach/Test reports/Check Washcares/Approve/reject test reports
* Check pre-production samples for Reach/paperwork/Washcare/test reports.
* Provide washcare/composition information for the catalogue/Web
* Assist QC in quality related issues/ Communicating with suppliers to highlight and resolve issues accordingly
* Attend weekly Tech meetings
* Manage customer feedback in a proactive approach
* Run reporting on returns/analysis of these reports
* Assist Technologists with projects
* Store visits to understand the market and the competition
* Align self to companies social and environmental mission and champion any actions that you can directly impact at all times’
Skills and Experience
* BTEC/HND/Degree qualification in Fashion related subject
* Experience in the garment/manufacturing industry an advantage.
* Competent in Outlook / Microsoft office
* Strong communication skills, both verbally and written. Ability to present technical information to others in a clear manner.
* Strong planning and organisation skills – Ability to plan and prioritise effectively to manage a busy schedule and to co-ordinate different suppliers across multiple products and seasons.
* To play an active part in any team situation, showing the ability to pro-actively take part
* To demonstrate the ability to work using ones initiative to problem-solve and trouble shoot upfront.
* A logical passionate, team player with a strong focus to attention to detail.
* A basic understanding of ethical & sustainable sourcing
Role Competencies
* Knowledge of company’s history, vision, culture and passion within the business focus.
* knowledge of the clothing industry
* Knowledge of different product types/ fabrics
* Experience of working within a busy role

* Juggle/prioritise workload to deadlines
Accountable for Resources:
* Physical – product samples- the role uses these to make improvements/ commercial decisions about the product. These are then used as agreed standards with the supplier
* Brand image - Quality of the product – the role is responsible for ensuring their product meets Fat Face standards, the brand is de-valued in the eyes of the customer if this is not achieved
* Company integrity – a significant part of the role involves making agreements with suppliers, which can affect the suppliers, desire to deal with Fat Face as one of their customers.
