The UK Data Archive at the University of Essex is looking for a Policy Guidance Officer to join our team who can combine strong attention to detail with excellent communication and technical skills to help shape and deliver resources that make a real impact for learners. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to impactful learning projects, working collaboratively to shape resources that support and inspire learners by gaining experience in creating digital content production within a supportive and collaborative environment.
In this role, you will be contributing to the development and delivery of high-quality learning resources that help researchers navigate complex policy areas such as research data management. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong editorial and organisational skills who enjoys working on practical content that supports research integrity and best practice.
You will support the review, editing, and publishing of training materials by ensuring content is clear, accessible, policy-aligned, and consistently formatted. This includes uploading resources to digital platforms, maintaining version control, and contributing to the creation of new guidance materials such as case studies and templates. You will also play a key part in user testing and feedback collection, helping to refine and improve content to ensure it meets learner needs effectively.
We are looking for someone who is:
• Methodical and well-organised, with strong attention to detail
• Confident editing and formatting digital content
• Familiar with accessibility standards or eager to learn
• An excellent communicator with a clear writing style
• Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team
