ASSISTANT TEAM MANAGER - LEARNING DISABILITY TEAM (Registered Social Worker or Mental Health / Learning Disability Nurse) 37 hours per week - Occasional weekend working Hartlepool Borough Council is seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Team Manager to join our Learning Disability Team. We welcome applications from both qualified and registered Social Workers and Mental health or Learning Disability Nurses who are committed to delivering high quality, person centred care and support. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team supporting adults with learning disabilities. In this role, you will provide leadership and oversight to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate services that promote independence and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
* Provide clear leadership and supervision to a team of social care professionals.
* Undertake complex assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with statutory duties.
* Lead on safeguarding enquiries and strategy meetings.
* Promote multi-agency working and maintain strong partnerships across health, education, and voluntary sectors.
* Support the development of staff through supervision, mentoring, and performance management.
* Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England OR Registered Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
* Proven experience in adult social care or health services.
* Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and decision making skills.
