About the Role
As a GRP Laminating Trainee, you'll complete a structured four‑week classroom based training programme designed to equip you with a highly sought‑after skillset and set you up for a long‑term career with Sunseeker.
The training is delivered Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:15pm, by some of Sunseeker's most experienced and longest‑serving Laminators.
Once training is complete and you transition into your role as a GRP Laminator, you will be fully involved in the production process. This includes using a variety of manual wet‑lay techniques, preparing and releasing both small and large moulds, and working as part of a team to achieve production targets while maintaining Sunseeker's world‑renowned quality standards.
What Does GRP Laminating Involve?
GRP composite lamination involves fusing layers of fibreglass to produce strong, durable components used throughout Sunseeker yachts.
This is a hands‑on, physical role which can be messy and demanding, involving:
Prolonged standing and manual handling
Reaching, lifting, twisting, and bending
Occasionally working at height or in confined spacesGRP materials have a strong, distinctive smell and can be hazardous without correct controls. Full PPE is provided free of charge by Sunseeker, and all work is carried out to strict safety standards.
