Community Nursery Nurse for Health Visiting

If you regard yourself as an enthusiastic and dynamic nursery nurse then you may be suitable to join our forward thinking, vibrant health visiting team in Reading. Whether you are an experienced staff nurse ready for a new direction, newly qualified or about to qualify, we will ensure you receive individualised and effective support from both your health visiting line manager and colleagues within your team.
You will work within the Reading area to deliver core and targeted services to children aged 0-5 and their families. You will require excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work in partnership with other teams and agencies, along with great communication skills and a passion for working with children and families.
A commitment to team working, flexibility and working with partners is essential, as you will collaborate with Children's Centres in the implementation of the Healthy Child Programme underpinned by the Solihull Approach model of working.
Applicants will have a full driving licence and use of a car.
Main duties of the job
* Participate in developing and implementing outcome‑focused care plans and evaluate care given, in partnership with clients.
* Provide support to families using the Solihull approach model in behaviour management, parenting skills and delivering programmes of care to vulnerable families.
* Develop and facilitate health visiting drop‑in clinics, and health promotion activities and groups.
* Undertake routine development assessments for children and postnatal contacts with parents.

Job responsibilities and qualifications
* Hold a nursery nurse qualification; NNEB or one of the following: CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education, BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development, NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development
* Hold a valid UK drivers licence with access to a vehicle
* 18 months post‑qualifying experience in a community setting
* Willingness to undertake further training and development and evidence of ongoing professional development
* Demonstrates some understanding of health visiting, effective teamwork, good written and verbal communication, an interest in public health and health education, reflective and innovative practitioner, ability to work without direct supervision, ability to work flexibly and a motivated, enthusiastic and non‑judgemental approach
* Knowledge of Child Protection and presentation skills

Car driver and have access to a car for work purposes.
