Passive Fire Surveyor – Fire Doors & Compartmentation

Salary: Circa £45,000 + Company Vehicle & Fuel Card
Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and highly regarded passive fire protection contractor delivering large-scale projects across the Midlands. The business operates across social housing, education, and public-sector frameworks, with a strong reputation for quality, compliance, and long-term client relationships.
You will play a key role in supporting nationwide contracts, carrying out detailed surveys and ensuring all passive fire works are identified, recorded, and reported to the highest standard.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Passive Fire Surveyor with a strong background in both fire doors and compartmentation. This role will involve conducting detailed site surveys, identifying compliance issues, and producing accurate, client-ready reports using digital reporting systems.
You will be working across a variety of live environments including occupied residential properties, schools, and public buildings, requiring a professional and client-facing approach.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct detailed surveys of:

Fire doors (including full compliance checks and measurements)
*
Fire stopping / compartmentation
*
Cavity barriers and penetration seals
*
Fire dampers and associated systems
*
Drylining and passive fire systems
*
Identify defects and non-compliance issues in line with current regulations and manufacturer guidelines
*
Record findings accurately using mobile surveying software (e.g. OneTrace, Bolster or similar)
*
Produce clear, detailed reports outlining remedial actions and compliance status
*
Liaise with site teams, clients, and contract managers to support project delivery
*
Work across occupied sites, maintaining professionalism and minimal disruption
Requirements
*
Proven experience conducting passive fire surveys (fire doors & fire stopping essential)
*
Strong technical knowledge of fire door compliance (gaps, tolerances, ironmongery, seals, etc.) and compartmentation standards
*
Experience producing detailed survey reports and using digital reporting systems
*
Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites
*
Strong communication and client-facing skills
Certifications (desirable):
*
FDIS / Fire Door Inspection certification
*
FIRAS / BM TRADA awareness or experience
*
CSCS Card
*
SSSTS / SMSTS
*
DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
*
Full UK Driving Licence
