Job Overview
As a laboratory support worker in blood Sciences the post holder works under the supervision of qualified scientists for delegated tasks required for delivery of a 24/7 medical laboratory service analysing and reporting on blood, urine, faeces and other body materials to achieve efficient and effective patient care and resource management within the hospital.
Main Duties
Part of an ongoing service, the Blood Sciences Department in Ysbyty Gwynedd is appointing a full time Band 3 Medical Laboratory Assistant. The role complements the expertise of experienced scientists and science assistants and is part of a fast‑paced laboratory diagnostics service.
The successful candidate will have basic knowledge of laboratory services and a capacity to learn and develop with a drive to deliver excellent service for the community. With strong teamwork skills, the candidate will communicate well, support colleagues, focus on quality service, and treat others with respect and dignity.
Peer support is provided, and a close‑knit, sociable team offers support and training to further skills.
Welsh speaking ability is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are welcome to apply.
