Job summary
This role is an opportunity to work as a Support Worker for the company Enable, which is a family-run business that has been caring for and supporting people since 1986. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivering positive, person-centered outcomes for individuals with complex support needs, including those with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health issues. Main duties of the job
As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for encouraging the people you support to play active roles in their communities, promoting independence. You will assist with activities of daily living, such as social activities, personal care, meal planning and preparation, and budgeting. Effective communication using the individual's preferred methods will be a key part of your role, as will engaging and motivating the people you support to enhance their quality of life. You may also be required to provide positive behavioural support approaches. Accurate record-keeping and reporting changes in health or circumstances to management will also be important. The role requires a team player approach, as well as the ability to work independently.
