Job Description
In this role you will work as part of a team to analyse, plan and manage the implementation of Information Technology aspects across South Yorkshire and Humberside Police.
Key Responsibilities
* The post holder will assist the IT Team/Team Leader (Network) in the planning, delivery and the provision of support arrangements of the network infrastructure and associated assets across multiple force areas.
* The post holder will assist the team to monitor and control requests for new work ensuring that appropriate quality and standards are maintained, and that work is completed in a timely fashion.
* The post holder will be expected to carry out maintenance tasks to network devices, such as replacing faulty equipment and supporting software upgrades.
* The post holder will be expected to respond to support requests, monitor and respond to these incidents/faults, and as part of the team be on call on a rota basis.
* Liaise with 3rd Party support suppliers to assist with loss of service issues.
* The post holder should have the ability to travel to all sites within the business (a pool vehicle would be provided for that sole purpose).
Skills and Experience
* ITIL Foundation.
* A good understanding of Network Hardware Technologies (Cisco preferred). Including firewall, switches, Wi‑Fi.
* An understanding of TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLANs, DNS, VoIP.
* Experience of working as part of a team and communications skills within that team.
* Full clean driving licence.
* Ability to work on call and occasional out of hours working.

Eligibility
Applicants must meet the minimum checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre‑requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
