Technical Motor Underwriter - Salary is Competitive
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Motor Underwriter to be part of the UK Commercial Solutions Team, operating at UK level supporting our trading teams to develop and implement solutions for our most complex cases and risk profiles.
This role is ideal for someone with high levels of underwriting authority who wants to further develop their knowledge and segment specialisms, maximising opportunities through market-leading propositions and solutions for individual cases and blocks of business, working closely with the Trading and Broker Performance Team.
About the job:
1. Assist with the Underwriting Strategy, philosophy/principles, best practice, and processes.
2. Lead the continual development of open market propositions for commercial Mid-Market.
3. Develop and lead strong Commercial Motor Underwriting capability across trading teams.
4. Ensure knowledge and insight into the performance of the Mid Market Commercial Motor Segment, supporting SME Planning and performance, and linking to the CUO Team.
5. Develop leading knowledge, capability, and expertise across the Commercial Motor Sector.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
1. Experienced Commercial Motor Underwriter with high underwriting authority, eager to develop and expand knowledge and authority across Property and Liability Classes, complementing Commercial Motor Underwriting expertise.
2. Understanding of performance issues at the Commercial Segment level for Mid-Market, Scheme, and Small Commercial Business to inform actions and identify opportunities or threats to underwriting performance.
3. Strong commercial business acumen to build and deliver business cases.
4. Proven leadership and mentoring abilities within a large, sophisticated organization.
5. Good knowledge of risk management and its application within the Commercial Motor Segment in Mid-Market.
