Job Description
Epropelled has an opportunity for a Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations QA team, the Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing. Preparing samples, testing & reporting results within the department assignments and ensures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
1. Set up, monitor and measure each unique test and record all data onto our database
2. Ensure test samples are stored and handled correctly
3. Take part in test preparation by cutting, sizing, labelling and affixing samples
4. Assist with deliveries, sign in and booking in of samples.
5. Interpretation of internal and client requirements
6. Operating complex mechanical testing equipment
7. Maintaining accurate and systematic records
8. Performing other duties to fulfil the demands of the laboratory
9. Performing general duties in accordance with Element's internal procedures, Quality as well as Health and Safety system
10. Application of instrumentation and the setting up of complex data capture equipment
11. Report writing, data interpretation and analysis

Requirements
Skills / Qualifications
12. Educated to a good general standard including English and Math
13. Associates Degree level or equivalent in mechanical or materials science or another relevant materials related discipline
14. Practical, hands on experience
15. Experience of working within a mechanical testing environment is advantageous
16. An understanding of a recognized Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025 is beneficial
17. Working knowledge of ASTM, ISO, or equivalent mechanical testing standards
18. Self motivated Test Technician with the ability to multi task, organize and work under the pressure of a busy commercial mechanical test laboratory
19. Excellent attention to detail
20. Strong written and verbal communication skills
21. A team player attitude
22. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

23. Possesses the ability to perform lower to intermediate complex testing.
24. Ability to work alone the majority of the work day; only requiring assistance for clarification or confirmation of test procedures.
25. Effectively manages time and practices accountability for the testing to be performed.
26. Ability to take testing projects from start to finish, completing each step properly.
27. Ability to hold team members and peer technicians accountable for the testing requirements.
28. Advanced ability to read and understand customer specifications and perform the testing required in accordance with customer specifications.
29. Ability to construct and maintain test fixtures and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order based on client needs.
30. Ability to maintain and repair equipment.
31. Ensures timely and accurate results with little supervision and technical input.
32. Be confident to perform lower to intermediate testing of projects (once trained)
