Service Engineer
Location: Mobile across South East England (ideal base: Cambridgeshire) Salary: £35,000–£40,000 (DOE + qualifications) Hours: Full-time, 45 hours per week Contract: Permanent
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Fire Safety Service Engineer to carry out servicing, remedials and light repairs across a range of fire protection systems. This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, problem‑solving and delivering high‑quality work across varied sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, maintain and complete remedial works on fire safety systems in line with industry standards
* Inspect, fault‑find and troubleshoot existing installations
* Work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure excellent service delivery
* Complete accurate reports, documentation and inventory records
* Keep up to date with relevant standards, technologies and best practice
* Participate in the out‑of‑hours call‑out rota
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience as a Fire Safety Engineer
* Strong problem‑solving ability and high attention to detail
* Able to work independently and collaboratively
* Excellent communication and customer‑service skills
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South East
Desirable (Bonus) Skills
* Fire alarm system commissioning
* Experience with security systems
* Smoke ventilation (AOV) testing, installation or commissioning

Requirements
