About the Role
Surya Chamak is a jewellery boutique in the heart of Stroud, offering timeless, tarnish-free pieces that bring a little extra sparkle to everyday life. We're looking for a friendly and reliable Seasonal Retail Assistant to join us for the busy Christmas period.
This role will primarily cover Saturdays (and potentially Sundays) throughout November and December, raining will begin in early October across Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (a couple of hours per day for the first 2–3 weeks) to ensure you feel comfortable and confident before the Christmas rush.
For the right person, there may be an opportunity to continue beyond the festive season in a more permanent role.
Responsibilities
* Delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming in-store experience
* Supporting day-to-day shop operations (serving customers, handling payments, restocking displays)
* Maintaining a clean and organised store environment
* Assisting with packaging, gift wrapping, and stock management during the Christmas rush
* Potentially taking on key-holder responsibilities (opening/closing the shop)
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
* 21 years or over
* Based in or near Stroud
* Experienced in retail (customer service background essential)
* Friendly, approachable, and confident in helping customers
* Responsible, punctual, and trustworthy (with potential to be a key holder)
* Excited to be part of a small independent business during our busiest and most magical time of year
