About The Role
If you love meeting new people and want to support individuals affected by dementia in your area, then this volunteer role might be perfect for you!
As a Group Support Volunteer, you'll support and encourage people affected by dementia to participate in activities and socialize in a group setting. Your role includes welcoming attendees, engaging with them to make them comfortable, offering refreshments, and assisting with setting up and tidying up after the session.
Your involvement will help people affected by dementia connect with others, access support and information, and enjoy meaningful activities.
Details of the Role
This role supports our activity group starting in August 2025 at Merrymeade House, Merrymeade Chase, Brentwood, CM15 9FE. The group meets on the third Monday of each month from 2-3:30 pm, with activities such as board games, Name That Tune, and musical bingo.

Ideal Candidate
* Good verbal communication and listening skills
* Enjoy meeting new people and working as part of a team
* Willing to learn about dementia and its impact
* Demonstrate empathy and compassion
* Over 16 years old
