Occupational Therapist - Neuro Outlier Service
A new and exciting position has become available to work in the Acute Inpatient Therapy Team at Aintree as a Neuro-outlier Occupational Therapist.
You will work closely with the AHP team and the wider MDT, covering a neuro outlier caseload, and supporting band 5 Occupational Therapists to develop their neurological assessment skills. You will collaborate with experienced Physiotherapists and TAs, and be supported by the Band 7 OT in the Acute Inpatient Therapy Team.
This role is suitable for an Occupational Therapist with experience in neurological conditions and an interest in teaching, supporting, and upskilling junior staff.
Main Responsibilities
1. Support the Neuro Outlier Service by providing OT assessments and treatment plans for patients in the Aintree Medicine bed base.
2. Support therapists within the acute inpatient therapy team.
3. Manage a caseload of patients with neurological impairments.
4. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions for complex needs using evidence-based and client-centered principles.
5. Maintain legal records of all assessments and interventions.
6. Supervise OT students regularly.
7. Provide leadership to junior staff through supervision and performance reviews.
8. Participate in planning, developing, and evaluating the OT neuro outlier service.
9. Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust's OT services.
