We seek an experienced Finance Manager/Controller to take the business through to its next period of growth.

ABOUT THE ROLE - LONDON BASED
We require all the usual brilliance for this type of role so you will be extremely flexible, agile, nimble and organised. Displaying a professional and polished demeanour you will exhibit exceptional commitment to accuracy, detail, and follow-up.
The person in this role will handle confidential information so yep we are looking for sound judgement and discretion.
It will likely be required that you will hire an accounts assistant quickly to replace the current Finance Manager who is retiring in June.
Key Responsibilities
Key Requirements
* Manage the AP/AR processes:
o Bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
o Prepare, send, and follow up on sales invoices, ensuring prompt payment.
o Process purchase invoices into the accounts package for accurate recording.
o Generate payables list on a bi-monthly basis for efficient management.
o Execute payments through banking software, maintaining security protocols.
* Maintain Fixed Asset Register and manage depreciation entries in the accounts package.
* Oversee pension management processes, including handling starters, leavers, and contributions.
* Manage Creditor debts and negotiations towards a satisfactory conclusion.
* Ensure timely preparation of management accounts to support decision-making.
* Manage intercompany transactions to facilitate smooth operations across entities.
* Lead the preparation of the annual R&D tax credit application process.
* Handle share options, including grant paperwork and compliance filing with HMRC.
* Oversee all Company Secretarial Matters with the assistance of a company secretarial services provider.
* Assist CEO in preparation for funding rounds.
* Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments, and other accounting entries for accurate reporting.
* Coordinate the end-to-end audit process of current systems, serving as the primary contact for external auditors.
* Collaborate with an external payroll bureau to prepare payroll accurately and on time.
* Manage VAT processes, including quarterly filing and compliance with HMRC regulations.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Skills & Expertise
* Proven experience in finance and administration roles, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Xero and GSuite.
* Strong understanding of financial principles and regulations, including VAT and HMRC requirements.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Certification in accounting (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is a plus.
* Experience working in a fast-paced environment. Ideally startup, technology, media, VC, or related industries.
* Willing to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in.
