About the Role
As a Sales & Marketing Director, you will be an integral part of the senior leadership team. This is a commercially minded and experienced hospitality leadership role designed to drive revenue generation and guest experience, working closely with the Managing Director and Founder. You will lead the sales, brand and marketing vision, balancing guest value with financial performance across five venues while aligning with the group strategy.
You will be a proven leader who can direct the sales and marketing functions, inspire and unite a talented team, and balance site-specific strategies with a group-wide mindset. You will be supported by the Managing Director and an internal team of seven, plus external agencies and consultants, with resources to achieve ambitious goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership & Vision
o Develop and articulate a compelling sales and marketing vision and strategy that aligns with Black Rock Groups objectives and guest experience goals.
o Translate commercial goals into actionable sales and marketing plans with clear ROI and accountability.
o Champion a unified revenue generation and communication approach across the sales and marketing teams.
o Balance group-wide initiatives with the individual brand identities of each venue.
o Act as brand guardian for the group as it grows.
* Sales Management & Growth
o Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team with targets for private dining, group events, restaurant and bar sales.
o Drive growth in Private Dining and Group Event sales through strategies, offers, and client relationships.
o Optimize sales performance using hospitality tech stacks, data analysis, and targeted promotions.
o Develop and maintain robust sales processes, reporting, and performance metrics.
* Marketing Leadership & Brand Development
o Direct and manage the multi-disciplinary marketing team to create and execute long-term plans.
o Work with a world-class brand agency to evolve venue and group brands with consistent messaging.
o Leverage brand communications to enhance guest perception, loyalty, and reach.
o Align marketing calendars with trade planning and operational readiness to maximise impact.
o Demonstrate ROI of marketing activities using data and analytics.
* Team & Stakeholder Management
o Lead with high performance, collaboration, and development across teams.
o Engage key internal stakeholders across Operations, Procurement, Finance to ensure alignment and execution.
o Manage relationships with external agencies and consultants to maximise value.
o Lead from the front with hands-on involvement when appropriate.
* What We’re Looking For
o Demonstrable experience managing and motivating a sales team with a track record of revenue achievement.
o Minimum 10 years of progressive sales and marketing leadership in premium hospitality.
o Fluency in Private Dining and Group Event sales strategies, including lead generation and client management.
o Proven ability to increase restaurant and bar sales using hospitality technology stacks.
o Experience in supplier initiatives and A&P funding.
o Extensive experience managing multi-functional marketing teams and budgets across brand, digital, content, PR, and events.
o Strong understanding of brand building and guest perception through communications.
o Commercial acumen with P&L, revenue optimisation, and ROI focus.
o Exceptional leadership to rally a team and diverse stakeholders behind a clear vision.
o Experience managing external agencies and consultants for effective delivery.
