Location: Cirencester Office

Employment Type: Permanent

Seniority: Mid-Senior Level

The role

The primary purpose of the role is to investigate, report on, and resolve whistleblowing concerns in accordance with Group Policy and regulatory expectations, ensuring that individuals can raise concerns about illegal or improper behaviour without fear of retaliation. In performing the role, you will support the Business Conduct Director in managing and continuously improving the whistleblowing framework, helping to ensure it remains effective, trusted and compliant. You will also seek to deliver good client outcomes and take into account the interests of the Group’s key stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing

* Act as a key point of contact for whistleblowing concerns and maintain effective, accessible, and confidential arrangements for their receipt and handling.
* Ensure all concerns are accurately recorded, investigated thoroughly and objectively, and tracked through to resolution, providing appropriate feedback to whistle-blowers where feasible and appropriate.
* Conduct robust, evidence-led, and legally compliant internal investigations into allegations of misconduct, including non-financial misconduct.
* Take all necessary measures to protect the identity of whistle-blowers who request confidentiality and foster a culture of non-retaliation and psychological safety.
* Provide regular updates to the Business Conduct Director to support timely and transparent reporting to the Board Audit Committee and the Whistleblowers’ Champion.
* Work closely with the Business Conduct Director to maintain and strengthen the whistleblowing framework, ensuring it supports regulatory compliance, promotes transparency, and fosters trust throughout the organisation.
* Maintain and regularly update the Group Speak Up Policy, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and best practice.
* Lead and contribute to the delivery of training, communications and awareness initiatives to promote understanding of whistleblowing procedures among employees, the Partnership, and Partner Support Staff (PSS).
* Actively contribute to promoting a culture of ethical behaviour, integrity, and good conduct across the organisation, working closely with the Business Conduct Director and Whistleblowers’ Champion.

Who we’re looking for

The ideal candidate is experienced in managing whistleblowing frameworks with a strong understanding of the regulatory requirements and best practice. You’ll be confident working independently on sensitive issues, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, and committed to fostering a culture of integrity, openness and non-retaliation. Your ability to manage complex, confidential matters with discretion and sound judgement will be key to your success.

Essential Criteria

* Extensive experience in whistleblowing, conduct, HR or other workplace investigations.
* Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to manage complex cases from start to finish.
* Deep knowledge of whistleblowing legislation, regulatory expectations and best practice.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at senior levels.
* Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and to build trusted relationships across functions.

Desirable Criteria

* Familiarity with SJP’s business model and internal structure.
* Experience producing governance reports or presenting to board-level committees.
* Knowledge of Consumer Duty and its relevance to conduct-related matters.
* Previous experience delivering training or awareness initiatives on whistleblowing or ethics.

Special Requirements

Flexible working arrangements can be supported, including working at home for parts of the week, part-time hours or job shares. The role will be based in Cirencester or London office and occasional travel may be required to support the investigation and resolution of whistleblowing cases.
