Associate – Valuation & Advisory (Retail & Industrial)

The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen to join the Valuation Advisory team at Cushman & Wakefield, based in Leeds and supporting clients across Yorkshire and the North East.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Associate to join our growing valuation team. The successful candidate will have strong experience across commercial real estate valuation, particularly within the industrial, office, and retail sectors, and will play a key role in delivering high-quality advisory services to a broad client base including lenders, investors, developers, and property companies.
As an Associate, you will also support the development of junior team members, contribute to business development initiatives, and help strengthen client relationships across the regional market.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake valuations for a variety of purposes, including:
* Secured lending
* Financial reporting
* Acquisitions and disposals
* Portfolio analysis
* Strategic advisory assignments
Core Duties
* Carry out inspections and prepare valuation reports in accordance with RICS Red Book standards.
* Deliver valuation and advisory advice across a range of asset types, including:
o Industrial & Logistics
o Offices
o High street and out-of-town retail
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive engagement and market insight.
* Support and contribute to business development activity, identifying opportunities within the regional market and wider client network.
* Work closely with colleagues across agency, capital markets, lease advisory, and wider valuation teams nationally.
* Assist in mentoring and supporting junior surveyors and graduates within the team.
* Contribute positively to team culture, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across the business.
Skills & Experience
* MRICS qualified and RICS Registered Valuer preferred.
* Strong experience within commercial valuation advisory.
* Proven exposure to industrial, office, and retail property sectors.
* Good understanding of the Yorkshire and North East property markets would be advantageous.
* Experience preparing valuation reports for lending, institutional, and advisory purposes.
* Strong analytical, organisational, and report-writing skills.
* Commercially aware with confidence in client-facing situations.
* Ability to manage workload effectively and work both independently and collaboratively.
* Experience supporting junior team members or contributing to team development is advantageous.
* Full UK driving licence required.
