Job title: Technician – Materials Technology (Welding)

What you’ll be doing:
* Undertake welding Development projects, production support, and weld engineering activities under the guidance of welding engineers
* Utilise welding processes and technologies to generate weld coupons in support of consumable assessment, procedure qualification, and the resolution of emergent productions issues and provide input based on experience. This is a practical, hands-on role and the majority of the time (typically 70%) will be spent welding and carrying out welding activities
* Prepare and review welding documentation
* Support research into advances in welding technology, assess for potential applications on current and future projects, and help the development and implementation of new processes
* Receipt inspection and testing of welding consumables to ensure compliance with relevant technical specifications
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
* Apprenticeship/time served welder
* Experience of welding a range of materials using a variety of welding techniques which include manual, automated, mechanised, or orbital processes
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office Software
* 3 GCSE’s (A* – C) or equivalent including Maths and Science preferred

The Welding Engineering team:
As a Technician on this team, you will be joining a team of 20 welding engineers and technicians working across the three submarine programs, providing technical support for all weld related activities on site and adjacent BAE Businesses.The company offers a range of opportunities for career development and growth.We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
