Our client is looking for a Principal Engineer (Major Projects Team Lead) to join their growing Building Services team in the North West. Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the delivery of MEP design across major construction projects
* Act as the technical lead, ensuring quality, compliance, and best practice across all designs
* Support the Head of Service in managing team performance, utilisation, and delivery targets
* Coordinate multi–disciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, and wider project functions
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, both internally and externally
* Oversee feasibility studies, detailed design, and technical reporting
* Drive continuous improvement and technical excellence within the team
* Support business development activities, including bid submissions and client presentations
* Monitor project progress, risks, and costs, ensuring successful delivery
What They're Looking For:
* Chartered Engineer (CIBSE or IET)
* Degree in Mechanical Building Services or Mechanical Engineering
* Proven experience leading multi–disciplinary engineering teams
* Strong background delivering large–scale MEP projects
* Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders
* Experience managing team performance, utilisation, and project delivery targets
* Strong understanding of quality assurance and design processes
* Ability to meet BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) requirements
