Assistant Director – Exchequer Services This is an outstanding opportunity to join the corporate leadership team of an ambitious London Borough and play a strategic role in a and forward-looking council The Role Reporting to the Director of Finance, and leading a small and high-performing team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for the council’s exchequer services: managing the council’s Exchequer Services Contract and also overseeing circa £600m of payments and £400m income annually. You will also have the opportunity to join the council’s Corporate Leadership Team and contribute to and lead on a wide range of priorities and cross-council initiatives; you will specifically be tasked with: Maximising income collection Developing and supporting transformation and digitisation initiatives Leading on how the finance directorate can make best use of technology Continuing high levels of performance, particularly in customer service: delivering efficient and effective services for residents. You will need to be innovative and have a strong ability to deal with residents, Council officers and members as well as businesses with a passion for providing great services. You must have the ability to adapt to changing legislative and working arrangements for the delivery of these services.
