Lead mechanical activity supporting critical aviation operations. At Babcock, we provide technical leadership and supervision within the Aircraft Maintenance, Storage and Unit (AMSU) team at RAF Shawbury. As a Mechanical Supervisor you will be responsible for supervising mechanical activity and providing technical support across aircraft storage, maintenance and preparation tasks, ensuring work is carried out safely, compliantly and to the highest standards while supporting quality assurance and health and safety programmes.
Responsibilities
* Supervising mechanical activity within the AMSU team to ensure safe and effective task delivery.
* Preparing a range of aircraft types for storage, sale or disposal.
* Carrying out and overseeing in-storage maintenance across multiple aircraft platforms.
* Controlling and supporting the AMSU Quality Assurance and Safety programmes.
* Conducting internal audits and supporting Health and Safety compliance activities.
Qualifications
* Considerable aviation experience.
* Experience working on fast jet aircraft.
* Experience in a supervisory role.
* Experience working on multiple aircraft types.
* Proven background in Quality Assurance and Health and Safety.
* Formal aircraft engineering trade training with recognised certification.
* Security Clearance – able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance.
* Eligibility for national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions may apply.

* Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00
* Friday: 08:00 – 15:00
