CAMHS IAPT Neurodevelopmental Practitioner

We are seeking an enthusiastic IAPT Neurodevelopmental Practitioner to join our CAMHS Gateway and community teams. Candidates must have completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Learning Disability and Autism.
Overview
In Dorset, we are transforming our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services into a Family Mental Health model that adopts the THRIVE framework. This role supports a whole-family approach with compassion, collaboration and shared decision-making. The position is full‑time; part‑time (minimum 30 hours) is considered. The post is pan‑Dorset with a temporary base during transition, requiring travel across Dorset.
Main Duties
* Assess, formulate and deliver evidence‑based interventions for children and young people with ASC and ADHD, tailoring to individual needs.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary and partner agencies (education, social care, health, voluntary sector). Attend multi‑agency meetings and integrated care planning.
* Perform risk assessments and implement risk management plans in line with Trust safeguarding policies.
* Deliver interventions in clinics, community venues, schools and family homes.
* Contribute to service development, audit, outcome monitoring and THRIVE‑aligned participation activities.
* Maintain accurate clinical records, attend supervision, appraisal and continuing professional development.
Qualifications
Essential:
* RNLD or RMN or RN with current NMC registration, or Allied Health Professional with HCPC/UKCP registration.
* Membership of a relevant professional body.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Recognised qualification or working towards one in a mental health therapy model.
* ENB998/Mentor Prep or teaching and assessing in clinical practice.
Desirable:
* Experience with adults, children and families experiencing mental health difficulties.
* Experience with children and young people with ASC and/or ADHD or other neuro developmental disorders.
* Experience developing and delivering group work or teaching groups of children.
* Experience of multi‑agency working and safeguarding matters.
* Ability to manage demanding workload to deadlines and timescales, write correspondence and reports.
* Knowledge of clinical governance, CQC standards, legislative framework and teaching professional training.
Information Technology
* Basic IT skills.
* Ability to manage time, conflicting demands and prioritise workload.
* Willingness to work autonomously.
* Subject to Equality Act provisions, able to travel using own vehicle on Trust business.
