About the Role
As Subject Lead for Religious Studies, you will bring energy, vision and enthusiasm to inspire pupils and colleagues, fostering a deep appreciation of Religious Studies across all key stages. You will lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of Religious Studies in line with curriculum requirements, ensuring consistently high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the Lancashire Agreed Syllabus and the AQA GCSE Religious Studies specification for Key Stage 4.
* Monitor pupil progress, raise attainment and support staff within the department.
* Collaborate with the senior leadership team and wider faculty to drive forward improvements and sustain outstanding achievement.
* Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching across all key stages, covering Islam and Christianity, and thematic studies on philosophical, ethical and social issues.
Qualifications
* Strong subject knowledge of Religious Studies.
* Excellent leadership and organisational skills.
* Demonstrated commitment to high expectations and academic excellence.
* Qualified teacher or in a newly qualified teacher year.
* Motivated, patient, and caring, with a focus on student learning and progression.
