Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site role for an IT Technician located at St Helens College. The IT Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting the college's IT hardware, software, and network infrastructure. Daily tasks will include diagnosing and resolving IT‑related issues, providing technical assistance to staff, setting up new equipment, and ensuring system security and data backups. Collaboration with other team members to enhance IT services for staff and students will also be a key part of this role.
Qualifications
* Knowledge and experience in IT hardware, computer networks, and software installation
* Skills in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing technical issues
* Understanding of system security protocols and data management practices
* Effective communication skills and the ability to provide excellent technical support
* Proficiency with operating systems, including Windows and other relevant platforms
* Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment
* Professional certification in IT or a related field is advantageous
* Previous experience in an education setting or working with similar technical environments is a plus
