Job Summary
Come join the Radiology Department for a great working experience and the opportunity to develop your career in the unique environment of St George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 sonographers to join our friendly and well-supported ultrasound team. This post is ideal for a confident practitioner who is already independently undertaking paediatric ultrasound and is keen to work as a rotational sonographer in the ultrasound department, as well as within a collaborative, child-focused service delivering high-quality care.
Main duties of the job
The service requires all sonographers to assist in a wide range of ultrasound examinations including general, small parts, gynaecology and basic vascular examinations. The majority of your time will be spent at St George's Hospital in Tooting or Queen Mary\'s Hospital in Roehampton. You may rotate through community sites at St John\'s Therapy Centre in Wandsworth and the Nelson Medical Practice in Wimbledon; site preferences will be considered when rostering to minimise commute.
This is a cross-site position across 4 sites with 18 ultrasound rooms, providing breadth of experience and scope of practice while helping meet service demand. All departments are equipped with the latest ultrasound machines and software from GE, Toshiba, Samsung and Philips.
The service also provides ultrasound imaging to the Ambulatory Care unit, which delivers sub-acute care via Accident & Emergency and houses a dedicated ultrasound room within the unit.
