Field Service Technician – Rail Division
Are you a skilled technician with strong mechanical and electrical expertise? We’re working with a well‑established engineering organisation that supports major rail projects across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team where you’ll be the face of the company on customer sites, ensuring equipment is maintained, serviced, and repaired to the highest standards.
The Role
As a Field Service Technician, you will:
* Carry out on‑site maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on rail HVAC equipment
* Perform electrical testing, rewiring, and component replacement
* Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures independently, providing clear assessments
* Undertake brazing, soldering, and mechanical assembly tasks to required standards
* Deliver professional communication and customer service while representing the organisation on site
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and maintain accurate service documentation
* Spend your first three months in production to gain full product knowledge before working independently on customer sites
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
* Experience in a field service, rail, or engineering role
* Strong mechanical and electrical skills, including fault finding and component replacement
* Electrical knowledge, including rewiring, testing, and system repairs
* Full clean driving licence
* FGAS qualification and minimum Level 3 electrical/mechanical qualification
* Experience with rail HVAC systems, chiller units, or compressors
* Previous rail industry experience
* HVAC product knowledge
