Rutherford Briant is recruiting for an Accounts Senior to join a Top 40 firm based in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is ACA/ACCA Qualified and seeking a new challenge, or for someone who is nearly ACA/ACCA Qualified and looking to advance their career in a reputable and well-known firm.

What you will do:
1. Review and prepare client accounts, tax, or VAT
2. Manage and deliver ad hoc projects and assignments
3. Involvement with audit work as required
4. Assist with higher-level, technical client accounts and all aspects of taxation compliance
5. Identify points for the Partner to raise with clients and potential areas for additional services
6. Finalize paperwork for dispatch to clients and HMRC, meeting deadlines and quality standards
7. Perform bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, supplier management, and management accounts as needed
8. Liaise proactively with clients to obtain relevant information, ensuring attention to detail
9. Monitor job quality and quantity, record chargeable time, and ensure maximum recovery
10. Support trainees through coaching, supervision, and review
11. Review and prepare client tax returns, advising on tax payable and payment dates, depending on assignment size
12. Assist clients with accounts software and bookkeeping queries
What you will need:
1. ACCA or ACA qualification, or nearing full qualification (full study support provided if needed)
2. Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience
3. Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
4. Excellent communication skills
