The Senior Technical Program Manager will be responsible for optimizing the technical attributes of our last‑mile vehicle fleet. You will own critical work‑streams that focus on keeping our EU fleet at the highest possible standard, ensuring the correct actions are taken to protect the customer, the fleet, and operations. The role requires strong technical capabilities and an equally strong ability to analyze, solve, and communicate complex problems. A successful candidate will be analytical, resourceful, customer‑focused, and team oriented, with proven experience navigating complex technical problem settings, delivering results in a fast‑paced automotive environment, preferably with commercial vehicles.
Key job responsibilities
* Own the optimization of technical attributes of our expanding vehicle fleet.
* Take accountability and drive planning, resolution, and execution in complex technical projects.
* Work independently, identifying improvement potential and managing projects from idea to implementation.
* Challenge internal stakeholders and external partners regarding existing practices and capabilities.
* Take strong ownership and bias for action to create appropriate action plans.
* Maintain a strong analytical orientation, using databases and analytical tools to make data‑based decisions.
* Apply strong project management capabilities, assessing risks, making decisions, managing execution, and reporting accordingly.
A day in the life
A day on the VPLE team is split evenly between reactive escalations about field issues, project work to progress field resolutions, and weekly cadence and team/development activities. Prioritization is critical, and the workload stack‑ranking is ever‑changing due to our reactive nature. It is fast‑paced, fun, interesting, and challenging, resulting in a very rewarding workload.
About The Team
The team is small, agile, and technically astute. We make decisions on behalf of a 30K strong fleet and position ourselves as the technical voice of AMZL, continually seeking gaps in our processes to drive standardization and excellence.
Basic Qualifications
* Experience working with cross‑functional teams.
* Extensive experience in technical program management, technical development, or related technical roles in commercial mobility (vans, trucks, buses) or the automotive industry.
* Experience in business reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
* Strong customer focus.
* Proven ability to manage complex technical programs with multiple internal and external actors.
* Experience aggregating information and communicating effectively to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management.
* A record of accomplishment in delivering results in a scrappy, fast‑paced environment.
* A history of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
