Job Description
Newstaff Employment Services is looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Administrator to join a dynamic and fast paced team within the construction sector.
In this dual role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records while providing essential administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. Managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial reports. As an administrator, you will assist with office management tasks, coordinate schedules, and maintain filing systems.
Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent organisational skills.
This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers and journals.
2. Process invoices, payments, and payroll in a timely manner.
3. Reconcile bank statements and ensure financial accuracy.
4. Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budget preparation.
5. Manage office supplies and inventory; order materials as needed.
6. Assist with scheduling meetings and managing calendars.
7. Handle filing, data entry, and other administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
8. Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
9. Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
10. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage 50, (Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite is ideal.
11. Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
12. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
13. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
14. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
15. AAT qualification or equivalent is advantageous but not mandatory.
