Join a Dynamic and Growing Manufacturing BusinessTrueline Products is an independent, family-owned UK manufacturer with over 30 years of experience delivering bespoke architectural solutions.As market leaders in design, manufacture, and supply, we pride ourselves on innovation, quick decision-making, and a forward-thinking approach within the construction and manufacturing sectors.Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Product Design Engineer to join our expanding team.We are open to candidates with varying levels of experience, from junior through to more experienced engineers, making this a great opportunity to develop your career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.The Role – Product Design EngineerThis is a hands-on role combining design, CAD/CAM programming, and manufacturing collaboration.You will be responsible for designing products, creating production-ready drawings, and developing programmes for manufacturing, working closely with internal teams to ensure efficient delivery.This role would suit someone with at least 12 months’ experience in SolidWorks and programming, who is looking to build on their skills within a growing business.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Design & Development
* Design and develop products in line with customer and project requirements
* Support the improvement of existing products to enhance quality and efficiency
* Assist with research and development activities to support innovation
CAD / CAM & Programming
* Produce accurate, detailed drawings using SolidWorks
* Develop programmes for manufacturing machinery (laser, punch, etc.)
* Ensure designs are practical, buildable, and production-ready
* Work to tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality
Manufacturing Collaboration
* Work closely with production teams to ensure designs align with manufacturing capabilities
* Provide technical support where required
* Support continuous improvement of design and production processes
Project & Operational Support
* Support projects from concept through to production
* Liaise with internal teams including estimating, surveying, and production
* Ensure smooth transition from design to manufacture
Skills & ExperienceEssential
* Minimum 12 months’ experience using SolidWorks
* Experience in CAD/CAM programming within a manufacturing environment preferred
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
Desirable
* Experience within sheet metal / fabrication / manufacturing environments
* Experience programming CNC machinery (laser, punch, etc.)
* Knowledge of SigmaNest or similar software
* Awareness of industry standards (e.g. BSEN / CE marking)
